Two-time heavyweight champion, George Foreman, has commented on Errol Spence’s decision to immediately activate his rematch clause for a second clash with Terence Crawford, not long after after he was dominated by ‘Bud’ and lost his world titles.
Crawford put on a boxing masterclass before knocking out Spence back in July, claiming the undisputed welterweight crown in the process.
However, Spence was wasted no time contemplating what to do next after his first career defeat, with the announcement last week that he has already activated his rematch clause to enforce a second showdown with his fellow American.
Whilst some have applauded the bravery of Spence for attempting to avenge the one-sided beatdown, others have suggested that he should regroup and rebuild before taking on Crawford again.
On social media, Foreman made it clear that he thinks Spence has made the correct decision in taking the opportunity whilst it is there, rather than allowing Crawford to move up the weight divisions and avoid a rematch.

When you are no longer Champ; you are out. Can’t take title shot lightly “There is a tide in the affairs of men” Spence should stay hungry. Viper has only so many strikes https://t.co/nPSAoyjqY1

The second clash between the welterweight duo is anticipated to take place at super-welterweight, after much speculation that Spence has difficulty making the 147lb limit.
As a result, the a potential super-middleweight contest between Crawford and the winner of Canelo-Charlo, will have to be put on hold, as Spence aims to pull off what would now have to be considered as a major upset against ‘Bud’.
