Gervonta Davis, now released from prison on $1000 bail, has addressed his arrest and domestic violence accusation.
The undefeated fighter who is due back in the ring on January 7 in Washington against Hector Luis Garcia was held by police in Florida this week – the incident report stating he is alleged to have struck a female with a ‘closed hand-type slap.’
Despite being out of custody, ‘Tank’ still faces a domestic violence charge of battery causing bodily harm.
Speaking out on his Instagram alongside a picture of his daughter, he denied the accusations.
“Do not let people misguide you on all this bulls**t.”
“These people done put out so much stuff, aired this everywhere and have a f***ing helicopter flying over my house now as [I] write because they look at this s**t as money to them and trying to get as much money as possible.”
The young fighter from Baltimore went on to claim that ‘they’ were setting him up by offering women money to accuse him of crimes he hasn’t committed. He went on to plead his innocence.
“They [are] doing this for money and also to destroy me! I am not a monster. I have two beautiful daughters that have to grow up someday and see this bulls**t!”
Davis then called out various internet blogs and news sites for publishing content without knowing the story behind it, claiming they were ‘bad for the culture’ and didn’t care to hear his side of the story.

His statement – which has since been taken down from his official Instagram account – seemed to be prompted by TMZ posting the distressing 911 recording that appears to be from the female in question.
In a snippet that many will find disturbing, she pleads with the operator to “Please help me; I need help, please. I’m trying to go home, I have a baby in the car and attacked me … He’s going to kill me.”
When asked by ESPN if his bout with Luis Garcia would be pulled, Showtime said they were looking in to the situation. Davis is also due to appear in court in February to address an alleged hit and run incident.
