It has become widespread in recent months that Mexico’s Lineal RING Magazine world champion, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez tested positive for elevated levels of Clenbuterol.
The Mexican failed two tests but cited the reason for the elevated levels were down to ‘contaminated meat’.
The Mexican then announced through his promotional handlers, Golden Boy Promotions that he would be looking to move his training base from Mexico to the US.

Since taking that approach, the issue has essentially been swept under the rug and the highly anticipated rematch between Canelo and Golovkin was never in any real danger of even being postponed let alone called off.
Golovkin has already strongly scoffed at those suggestions and has reaffirmed his belief in those comments once again. But this time in much more detail.
‘GGG’ is not buying the excuse that Canelo presented that he had consumed inappropriate meat. Golovkin outright accused his Mexican counterpart of cheating this time.
Golovkin has pointed the finger at Canelo and his team for cheating.
“Again with Mexican meat? Come on,” Golovkin said to media members on Tuesday.
“I told you, it’s not Mexican meat. This is Canelo, his team.”
“This is his promotion. Canelo is cheating.”

Golovkin says the drug use is so obvious as it is clearly visible how Canelo’s body has developed over the years. He filled out and got bigger in particular areas which did seem to raise some eyebrows.
“They’re using these drugs, and everybody is just trying to pretend it’s not happening.”
Golovkin also said the injection marks were clearly ‘visible’ when he faced off with Canelo the first time.
“It was pretty obvious when (Canelo’s) muscles were all (enlarged) … and with the traces of injections, which were visible,” Golovkin said.
Golovkin wasn’t done just yet, as he shifted his focus on to the former 6-weight world champion, Oscar De La Hoya who is Canelo’s promoter.
“I can talk about Oscar De La Hoya, too. He is also not clean. He’s dirty.”
Golovkin says the photos of how Canelo’s physique has developed should be presented them to a doctor for proof of what has happened.

“You should take a look at the photos and ask a doctor. Ask any doctor. Let him explain what those (muscles) are.”
Golovkin also suggested another route to solving the issue would be to have the Mexican take a lie detector test.
“It’s better even to use the lie detector. Then there wouldn’t be any silly questions about meat or fruits or chocolate.”
