David Haye has acknowledged where he went wrong following embarking on his comeback at the beginning of 2016.
‘The Hayemaker’ made his return against the undistinguished pair of opponents in Mark De Mori and Arnold Gjergjaj. Both men provided abysmal displays and crumbled after Haye landed a handful of punches.
Haye says not having a proper fight for close to four years took a massive amount of sharpness from him. He now says his two comeback fights were not proper fights. Haye dismissed those two performances as him ‘beating up’ a defenceless victim.
11 days until #HayeBellew2 – I’m in the shape of my life & looking forward to showing the boxing fans #TheRematch was well worth the wait. This camp has been brutal at times but I’ve learnt so much I’ve relished every second. I have no doubt it will all be worth it! #Revenge 👊🏾 pic.twitter.com/I6MpIHbC1d

“The Dereck Chisora fight was my last competitive boxing match. Outside of that, in the two comeback fights, I didn’t get punched once. It was just me beating someone up,” Haye told Sky Sports.
“I overestimated how good I was. I thought that I was as good as I was in 2012.”
“I overestimated myself, I’m not sure that I underestimated him,” Haye claimed.
The perfect way to recharge ahead of my final week of ‘tank emptying’ training. Feeling focused, energised and relaxed. Revenge is in sight 🌅#HayeBellew2#ParkPlazaMomentspic.twitter.com/VtOiHdnFjc

Very recently, the former WBO heavyweight champion, Joseph Parker who surrendered his title to Anthony Joshua after losing a unanimous decision.
His promoter, the outlandish David Higgins has now said that they will target the winner of the Bellew – Haye May 5th rematch.
“Joseph Parker himself and our team would back him against almost anyone, and certainly would back him against the winner of Bellew-Haye,” said the former world champion’s promoter David Higgins.
“For those British contenders, respect to the one that does step up to Parker, because I think, despite Parker not quite getting the win, he gained a lot of respect, and is the first man to take Joshua the distance.”
.@mrdavidhaye defied his critics, who expected him to have a tough night's work, as he emphatically blew away Vincenzo Rossitto in front of the @SkySports cameras in October 2005. The Hayemaker will prove his doubters wrong again on May 5th. #HayeBellew2#Revenge#HayeHighlightspic.twitter.com/Ljf5s1c3aG
