Promoter Eddie Hearn is looking to put Dillian Whyte in America for his next fight.
The 32-year-old Brit gained revenge on Saturday night in Gibraltar against Alexander Povetkin for his knockout defeat last August which briefly derailed his world title aspirations.
Whyte, still without a world title shot and who is now the WBC Interim title holder, will be keeping a close eye on the Joshua-Fury developments. For now, the short-term attention turns to what is next.
“I’d like to get him out in the summer and in America,” Hearn told Boxing Social on Saturday night in Gibraltar.
“We’ve gotta realise that it’s going to be 2022 till he gets a shot at the world heavyweight title, so he’s got two more fights this year. I love the Deontay Wilder fight, I think it’s a massive fight, I think it’s a stadium fight. I think it does huge numbers so that’s something we’ve got to look at as well.
“He probably deserves a bit of an easier shot. He only boxed once last year because of the pandemic and he’s only boxed once so far in 2021. He’s a problem for anyone in the heavyweight division.”
