Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller has been getting lots of headlines recently, and many of them are centered around his desire to knock out former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
Infamously, the pair were due to fight at Madison Square Garden back on June 1 2019. The hotly anticipated match-up broke the venue’s pre-sale record and had a heated build-up that saw plenty of pushing and shoving and verbal bad blood.
However, it wasn’t to be as Miller failed drugs tests in the run-up to the contest, with three banned substances found in his system.
Since serving a ban and returning to the sport he has been on the rebuild, with Joshua’s name never far from his lips following wins over the likes of Lucas Browne back in March.
Speaking to Seconds Out, Brooklyn’s ‘Big Baby’ says Joshua is only looking to fight “bums” but that he would relish a chance to get inside the ring with the Brit.
“Anthony Joshua is no longer the champion. Putting my undefeated record up against somebody who doesn’t have anything to really offer other than the money, I would rather go for the belt.
But there’s some bad blood there so I would love nothing more than to knock him the f**k out. “
For Miller, a shot at Joshua offers a payday he won’t get elsewhere. However, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn said there is no chance the fight happens in August, but hasn’t ruled it out entirely for some point down the line.
“Most of it is them ruling out a tough challenge,” said Miller to that news. “Eddie Hearn runs like a girl when he hears my name.”
Depending on how Hearn’s search for an opponent goes in the coming days, Miller may be getting that call sooner than he expects.
