Fringe heavyweight contender Martin Bakole needed just 150 seconds to overwhelm Ghanaian Haruna Osumanu at the Sport Society in Dubai on Saturday evening.
The Airdrie-based Bakole (17-1, 13 KOs) forced Accra’s podgy and overmatched Osumanu (11-3, 7 KOs) to the ropes before bludgeoning him to the canvas where the fight was waved off in the opening session.
Congo’s Bakole is currently rated WBC No.14, WBA No.15 and IBF No.15 and seemingly on the cusp of a meaningful fight.

Tommy Frank bounced back after his injury retirement loss and subsequent points defeat to Mexican nemesis Rosendo Hugo Guarneros to claim the vacant British flyweight title on the cards against Matt Windle at the Ponds Forge Arena in Sheffield on Saturday night.
Sheffield’s Frank (14-2, 3 KOs) dropped Birmingham’s Windle (6-4-1, 0 KOs) in the second with a right hand before cantering to a clear points verdict. Scores were 118-109, 117-111 and 117-110.

Unbeaten 135-pounder Jose Valenzuela (10-0, 6 KOs) clearly decisioned the sturdy Deiner Berrio (22-4-1, 13 KOs) at the Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield, California, on Saturday.
Mexican Valenzuela was always in command but made to work by the Colombian’s uncompromising style. After Valenzuela dominated early, the unorthodox Berrio grew into the fight and the duo traded evenly in a feverish last round.
Scores were 100-90, 99-91 and 98-92 in the PBC on Fox main event.
