British heavyweight contenders, Hughie Fury and Dillian Whyte are now seemingly on a collision course. On Sunday night, Fury and Whyte engaged in a back and forth and seemed to all but agree to a domestic clash in February.
Matchroom mogul and Whyte’s promoter, Eddie Hearn now seems set to iron out the details.
Hughie Fury, the younger cousin to the current Lineal RING Magazine world heavyweight champion initiated the social media exchange early on Sunday morning, sharing his intention to ‘get back fighting top contenders.’
Fury got the ball rolling and placed the onus on Eddie Hearn to sort out the finer details of a match-up with his charge, Dillian Whyte.
Looking to get back fighting top contenders @DillianWhyte I’m ready next if you fancy it. @EddieHearn can pay for it or my team will do it.

‘The Bodysnatcher’ Dillian Whyte issued his response on Saturday night, he shared that a meeting with the younger Fury is something that is very feasible.
Whyte and his promoter, Eddie Hearn have previously mentioned that they have pencilled in Whyte’s return to the ring for February. The original plan for that date was to have Whyte challenge the WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.
That plan was met with repeated failure however because of the American’s insistence that Whyte was not a big enough draw and furthermore because if he won, he wanted it stipulated in the legal contract that a fight with Anthony Joshua would follow, which was unacceptable to Eddie Hearn.
Whyte was last seen in the ring, when he outpointed Finland’s Robert Helenius on October 28th. That lacklustre victory came on the undercard of Anthony Joshua’s fourth defence of the heavyweight title against Carlos Takam.
No problem @hughiefury I’d love to fight you what about February 3rd O2 @EddieHearnhttps://t.co/477f7tGztR

Following Dillian Whyte’s acceptance towards the potential showdown, Hughie Fury shared that he never doubted the Brixton slugger’s desire to take him on.
Both men conducted themselves appropriately and in a true sportsmanlike fashion. Fury shared that his whole focus regarding the endeavour was to ‘make some money & put on a show’.
Dillian Whyte concluded the exchange by informing Fury to train hard before saying ‘see you on February 3rd’. Dillian Whyte did emphasise one last time in the tweet telling Fury ominously, to train hard.
Good train hard see you feb 3rd train hard
