Michael Hunter was forced to battle his way to a ten-round draw in his heavyweight rematch with Jerry Forrest in the Trillerverz main event last night at the Hammerstein Ballroom, New York City. The scores were 96-94, 94-96 and 95-95.
Forrest made a positive start to their bout, charging down Hunter and marking up his opponent’s face in the opening three rounds. Forrest then landed heavily in the fifth, with Hunter appearing to be sick in the corner at the end of the round.
Hunter began to recover in the seventh round, but by the close of the session, it was again Forrest landing the heavier shots. Both heavyweights came out flying in the final round of their rematch, perhaps feeling they needed the final round to claim victory.
