Former heavyweight world champion ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson is not buying the hype. He is certain that Floyd Mayweather will do whatever he wants to Conor McGregor in a boxing ring. Tyson spared no words when he recently paid a visit to the ‘Pardon My Take’ podcast.
“McGregor is going to get killed in boxing. I got mad because I thought they were going to use MMA rules against boxing because that’s what it’s all about: Can the boxer beat the MMA guy?” said Tyson.
Tyson believes the Irishman did himself a disservice by accepting a fight against Mayweather under the Queensbury rules.
“McGregor put his dumb a** in a position where he’s gonna get knocked out because this guy’s been doing this all his life since he was a baby. McGregor can’t kick and grab and stuff so he won’t stand much of a chance. McGregor took the biggest sucker rules in the history of boxing,” commented the New York native.
McGregor’s sparring partner Paulie Malignaggi certainly disagrees with Tyson’s opinion. He recently stated that ‘The Notorious’ can do damage to with his power.
Meanwhile, fans have been somewhat divided especially after the world wide press tour that took place in four different cities.
The fight between Mayweather and McGregor is scheduled for August 26th in Las Vegas.
