There are just over two weeks to go until Daniel ‘Miracle Man’ Jacobs makes his long-awaited return to the squared circle following a hard-fought 12 round battle against the 160 lbs divisional kingpin, Gennady Golovkin and if his comments are anything to go by, he seems raring to go. The event marks a new dawn for Jacobs who begins a partnership with both Matchroom Boxing and HBO Sports and the event will take place 12 days from now in New York and will be televised live on HBO World Championship Boxing in the USA and on Sky Sports in the UK.
Arias is putting his undefeated record on the line against one of the division’s major players in the shape of the former middleweight champion, Jacobs whom represents a huge step up in class for the Wisconsin native.
“He has to be superhuman to beat me and I will be his kryptonite. I don’t think he has the mentality. He talks a lot of trash but when you go in there it’s a different story” Jacobs started by explaining.
Yeah, you can make it sound good outside the ring – you can trash talk and you can try and hype yourself up but it’s a totally different story once you get inside that ring – you get hit then you realize you are in there with a totally different calibre of fighter,” Jacobs ominously warned his next opponent.
Jacobs stressed the fact there are ‘levels’ in the sport of boxing and Jacobs is intent on showing the huge gulf in class between them. “I am elite compared to the calibre of opponents he has fought in his professional career. He talks about the amateurs but you can’t talk about amateurs and I don’t know why he’s highlighting his amateur career. I mean, when do we highlight amateur fights at this level – it really doesn’t mean anything now. There are levels to this game and I am going to show him that on November 11” Jacobs said on a final note.
