Jake Paul offered Tommy Fury one last chance to fight him on August 6 but the bout is now officially off and a new opponent has been confirmed.
The contract for the ex Love Island star to face the American YouTuber had been signed and everything was set for a showdown at Madison Square Garden, New York. However, things started to fall apart when Fury was denied entry to the US as he attempted to board a plane for the first press conference last week.
Paul gave Fury till Wednesday morning to fix his visa issues or would announce a new opponent. Tommy, the brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, missed the deadline and posted on Instagram saying he was ‘gutted and disappointed’ regarding the problems he was having trying to cross the pond.
Even though the moment had passed Paul appeared to throw the Brit a lifeline and tweeted out a suggestion that the two fight in the UK, but Fury would only receive $500k
“I’m confident you are a scared little boy who doesn’t want to fight or understand business. I will pay you $500K to fight me in the UK. I will do it shortly after August 6. You accept?”
Fury was quick to rebuff the offer from his rival saying he ‘wouldn’t get out of bed to fight Paul for $500k’:
I wouldn’t get out of bed to fight you for $500k 🤣 Let me know when you’re ready to have a serious conversation. https://t.co/vYfDTqVsxv

So, after an injury pull-out in December, months of social media back and forth and another signed contract – once again the fight is officially not happening.
Paul was quick to take to social media to confirm he had moved on to replace the British Light Heavyweight with Hasim Rahman Jr for the Showtime Pay-Per-View.
✅ Bigger
✅ Stronger
✅ More experienced
✅ KO powerBut it doesn’t matter. They don’t have my heart, don’t have my drive & definitely don’t have my team.
August 6 I’m showing the world that Jake Paul is a bad mother fucker.

Earlier footage had emerged online of Paul and Rahman Jr sparring each other in the past showing the YouTuber landing a thudding right hand to the son of former World Heavyweight Champion Hasim Rahman Sr. Now another video clip has surfaced of the two getting involved in a heated altercation after what looks to be that same sparring session:
