Jake Paul and Tommy Fury fought in Saudi Arabia back on February 26th 2023 and now a long-mooted rematch has been mentioned once more by Paul who claims he has offered Fury 20 millions dollars for two more contests.
Jake Paul stirred the animosity between the two by announcing the birth of Fury’s daughter before the father himself had made it public and all this boiled over in the ring.
Fury eventually defeated Paul by split decision and then went on to beat KSI in London a few months later and is yet to have fought again since then having undergone surgery to fix a long-standing injury to his hand.
Paul has now been speaking to ESPN about renewing their rivalries but didn’t seem confident it would happen.
“I don’t think so to be honest. I think he is a lot of things – one of which is not very serious about the fight and making it happen, and two, unrealistic in terms of offer and finances. He thinks he is his brother in terms of what he’s worth, but that’s not how it works, brother.”
He added that Fury doesn’t really want to fight.
“There is a fear of losing and being unrealistic about losing. We all know people price themselves out and hide behind that if they don’t want to fight. I’m on a mission to become world champion. All doors for Tommy lead to me. I can do whatever I want.”
Jake Paul’s manager Nakisa Bidarian then commented that they have made Fury a two-fight deal, one in the boxing ring, and a rematch in the cage.
“He said he’s willing to fight Jake in boxing, and if he wins, he’s willing to fight in the smart cage. We’ve offered him a payday close to eight figures. It’s close to 20 million dollars money to re-engage in the Jake Paul competition, effectively.”
Whether Fury will be able to turn his nose up at that, time will tell.
