As Jake Paul and Tommy Fury prepare to fight, it appears that the latter will be making money win or lose.
Whilst the intrigue for the fight comes from finally seeing the level each fighter is at in realtime under the lights, things were spiced up a bit with Paul’s wager at the press conference.
He offered Fury double his purse should he win, but nothing if he loses. Fury’s father and trainer, John, jumped in and accepted the terms.
Later, in their final face-to-face interview, the Fury’s once again confirmed they would sign once their lawyers had looked at the contract presented by Paul.
Now, the American boxing upstart has provided an update, and believes it shows the Furys are showing false confidence.
“As you guys saw – the bet yesterday, on stage – Tommy agreed to it, shook my hand. His dad said that they were agreed to it. So I signed the contract right in front of them. We send it over to their lawyers and, just as I thought, they have gone silent as a mouse for the last 24 hours.”
“They do not want to sign the contract and it just goes to show that they have this false confidence. Put your money where your mouth is. You shook on it like a man, and now you guys have it signed, the actual contract, to make the deal official. Soft.”

Whether or not the contract gets signed, it was an aside to the fight that, given the hype online and in Saudi Arabia, needed no more selling.
With both fighters having made the contracted weight of 185lb comfortably, all that’s let=ft is to step through the ropes for this intriguing eight-rounder.
