Jake Paul believes Misfits shows need a commission that ‘makes it safer for everyone’ following the outfit’s latest promotion on DAZN.
KSI – who co-founded the company – headlined the most recent crossover card against Joe Fournier, ending proceedings in the second round with an elbow to the face that was missed by the referee.
Paul – a longtime rival of the winner in both the content creation space as well as, more recently, celebrity boxing – dismissed KSI’s statement on the final blow, which stated he landed a hook which was followed by an ‘unintentional forearm.’
The American was having none of it, and used his response to call for the British Boxing Board of Control to oversee proceedings in the future.
“Why you lying still? No part of your glove made contact with Joe’s face on that elbow. That was not a hook. That was straight up a right elbow to the jawbone. Good form but wrong sport. Your whole promotion is sham. Bad look for the sport of boxing.
Your “commission” PBA should hold itself to a higher standard. I hope England Boxing starts to oversee this product and makes it safer for everyone.”

Unlike many of his contemporaries who have crossed over into combat sports, Paul’s bouts are professionally sanctioned by recognised commissions.
Misfits, on the other hand, is overseen by the Professional Boxing Association – an organisation that officiates ‘semi-pro/white collar’ bouts in the UK.
General Secretary of the BBBofC, Robert Smith, has previously expressed concern at the shows, saying that it was boxing in general that would be targeted should an injury, or worse, happen.
He recognised that the promotion wouldn’t approach them because they knew that some fighters would not be licensed.
Following his victory, KSI began the hype for a fight with Tommy Fury, a 9-0 professional fighter who recently beat Paul in a properly sanctioned eight-rounder.
It’s unclear at this stage if KSI will seek a British license for this fight.
