The press conference for Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury is all set for Diriyah today and Mike Tyson is just one of the many huge names in boxing who are set to be in attendance.
Also expected to make an appearance is current heavyweight champion of the world Tyson Fury, who is in Saudi Arabia to cheer on his younger brother ahead of the biggest fight of his night this weekend.
Reports have circulated that the two icons will be part of a ‘special media panel’ for the curtain raiser for what promises to be an interesting fight week. Also expected to make up the panel is undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney and former world champion Shawn Porter.
Fury was on the receiving end of some flak from Paul, after he elected not to attend the opening press conference last month due to the birth of his daughter.
As expected, the YouTuber capitalised fully on this, as well as Fury’s withdrawal on both occasions when the pair had previously scheduled to fight.
‘TNT’ pulled out once due to suffering a broken rib, then a second time after being refused entry into the United States.
The contest on Sunday night is seen as make or break for both men and is widely expected to be the toughest test of either’s professional boxing career to date.
Many observers believe the pressure lays firmly on the shoulders of Fury – with even members of his own family telling him he should remain in Saudi Arabia if he fails to dispatch of Paul.
A one way rematch clause is reportedly in place should Paul lose, however Fury has not been afforded the same luxury and will be well aware he will only get one shot at stopping ‘The Problem Child’ in his tracks.
The fight is available to watch in the UK at a price point of £19.95 on BT Sport Box Office and for $49.99 for US fans on ESPN+.
