Jake Paul says he still has unfinished business with Tommy Fury, who handed him his first defeat back in February.
However, any rematch with the Brit will have to wait, with Paul set to face former UFC welterweight champion, Nate Diaz, in August.
Fury defeated Paul by split decision earlier this year in Saudi Arabia, although many viewers felt that the 23-year-old did enough to justify a more comfortable win on the scorecards.
It seemed that a rematch between the pair was a formality, however talks have since gone quiet and it’s not been announced that Paul will instead fight Diaz.
On his YouTube channel, Paul spoke on his first career defeat and reiterated that he still wants ‘vengeance’ over Fury, but gave credit to his rival on an ‘amazing performance’.
“I have been in the gym since the day I got back from Saudi. I literally got off the flight, came home and went on a four-mile jog. I’ve been working out every single day, six days a week, fuelled with vengeance to come back and take what is mine, because I know I can beat Tommy.
That was the worst version of me possible. It just wasn’t my night, he was the better man, he had an amazing performance and congrats to Tommy for that, but I want to come back.
I want to come back and take what is mine from that kid and I hope he enjoys it, Tommy, I hope you’re enjoying your victory, you earned it, respect. Let it soak in and enjoy it for as long as possible, because you are not going to have a taste of victory on your tongue for a while.”
Jake Paul will take on Nate Diaz on DAZN pay-per-view on August 5th in Dallas.
