Australia’s very own Jeff Horn WBO welterweight champion, is preparing for the second defence of the title he claimed on home soil during the summer of 2017.
Jeff Horn is making somewhat of a name as being unafraid and willing to take on any challenge presented to him. A refreshing change of pace in the welterweight division where many contenders have been accused of ducking legitimate challenges.
He will take on mandatory challenger, the man who unified the world undisputed jr-welterweight title in 2017 in the form of Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford on the 14th April in Madison Square Garden.
Horn claimed the title in July of last year against the legendary Manny Pacquiao. He has since made one successful defence of that title against Gary Corcoran, stopping the Briton in December 2017.
Horn claims he is unfazed by being billed as an overwhelming underdog coming into this fight. Many perceive he will be overmatched and dismantled by one of the most technically sound boxer-punchers in the sport today, who is also in the prime of his life.
Horn however is looking forward to proving all the doubters wrong and overcoming the challenge ‘Bud’ poses to his title.
“I know Crawford is a terrific boxer, but there are a lot of guys out there with his sort of speed and skills and I’m not overawed.”
“A lot of people say he is the best in the world right now but my whole career has been about fighting guys people said were way better than me and proving them wrong,” Horn explained to Courier Mail.
“Last year I beat Manny Pacquiao who was an 11-time world champ across eight weight divisions. I’m going into this fight very confident I can do the job in America.”

“I have a great team around me and I want to beat all the top welterweights in the world. Then maybe fight someone like Canelo Alvarez in a super-fight in Las Vegas,” Horn said.
