Just under a month ago, Terence Crawford was instilled as the mandatory challenger to Jeff Horn’s WBO world welterweight championship after relinquishing his undisputed world title in the jr welterweight division.
Jeff Horn shocked the world of boxing when he overwhelmed the legendary Manny Pacquiao in a gruelling encounter, he has now promised to pull off another upset in 2018 when he makes the mandatory defence of his title against Crawford.
Horn makes the first defence of his WBO world welterweight crown against Britain’s Gary Corcoran, in his hometown of Brisbane, Australia on December 13th. Both Crawford and Horn will then have a ninety day period to finalise an agreement to do battle for the title.

“At the moment with all the events and promotions I have to attend everything is flying by so fast it’s like the weeks have become days,” Horn said to Fox Sports. “It’s more than four months since I beat Manny Pacquiao at Suncorp but it feels like yesterday,” Horn started by saying.
“I’m very keen to fight Terence Crawford. They’ve made him the top contender for my title and he has a great record but I know I can beat him like I beat Pacquiao. We’ll just have to see the timing of the fight and when it happens,” Horn added.

Horn also detailed his plans to enjoy the early stages of fatherhood before returning to training camp following hopefully making a successful defence of his title.
“I want to have a holiday with my wife and the baby. We probably can’t go far for a while but maybe we’ll go down to O’Reilly’s (in the Gold Coast) again. It’s beautiful down there. I’m super excited about becoming a dad. It will be the highlight of my life and I want to enjoy some time with my wife and new baby before I start training for the next fight.”
I feel like I felt before I ever won my first world title. I'm so ready to be champ at 147.
