Two of the middleweight division’s premier fighters in Jermall Charlo and Daniel Jacobs have been on somewhat of a collision course since Jermall declared his foray into his second weight class at the middleweight limit of 160 lbs.
Numerous back and forths occurred on social media between the Brooklyn native, Jacobs and the powerhouse hailing from Texas, Jermall Charlo and they finally had the chance to meet face to face and discuss their issues.
The interview started with Fighthype.com’s cameras following Charlo out backstage following the Ortiz vs Wilder world heavyweight championship battle. Charlo stated his intention was to run into Jacobs prior to them running into one another.

Jacobs voiced his displeasure at Charlo’s claim that Jacobs left the Al Haymon’s PBC banner and signed with Matchroom and HBO in an effort to get away from him on a different network.
Jacobs stated his argument that he left to become a millionaire before pondering whether Jermall has ever seen that type of money before.
“I’m just trying to figure out what we are doing, back and forth on Twitter?” Jacobs started.
Before one of Jacobs entourage chimed in with “We said go to HBO.”
“I can do whatever you wanna do,” Charlo retorted.
“You said I’m ducking you by going on HBO? Bro, you have not even touched an m ($1million) yet”

“I’m touching m’s, that is why I made my way to HBO;” Jacobs added.
“I get that,” Charlo commented bluntly.
“I ain’t ever said you ducked me, they asked me do you want to fight Danny, I said why not? Then you said you wanted a big name.”
“It’s all he said, she said,” Charlo commented.
Both combatants edged closer to one another as the interview progressed and Jacobs said ” I keep hearing people say pull up, I don’t know what that means so I’m confused because you know my rap sheet.”
