Joe Joyce Beats Joseph Parker for WBO Interim Heavyweight Title
Joe Joyce is a danger to the division. It’s tough to predict exactly when his title shot will come, but, when it does, he’ll make it a fight. Joseph Parker stopped for the first time in his career. Before the stoppage, Joyce was up on all three score cards after another relentless performance. After that showing, the toughest test for ‘The Juggernaut’ might be finding opponents.

Joe Joyce closes the show, sending Joseph Parker to the canvas with a left hand in Round 11. Parker wobbles to his feet but in no shape to continue. Best win of Joyce’s career yet. He’s ready – and deserving – of a crack a heavyweight title next year. #JoyceParker

Round 11 – Joe Joyce wins by knockout!
UNBELIEVABLE – Joyce drops Parker hard. The New Zealander walked straight onto a left hook and stumbled before he fell. The referee gives him a chance with the count but he doesn’t make it. Joe Joyce wins by knockout in the eleventh. Huge credit to both men – a throwback fight with very few steps back.

Round 10
A back and forth start to the round. Impressive pace being shown by both considering the punches taken. Parker’s cut seems to be bothering him now. Jabs traded and nothing much to report except they both have legendary chins. Parker lands a few big lefts just before the bell in the most eye-catching action of the round. Probably enough to convince the judges to give it his way.
Round 9
As sure as day follows night, Joyce comes out popping the jab again. It’s a stiff shot that may turn out to be the hero of the fight. Parker’s face is still bloodied. He lands a big right hand but has any momentum broken by Joyce throwing back two. The chins on show here are quite incredible – the shots have been thrown with real menace throughout. Joyce landing some to the body with success, but his opponent simply refuses to quit. Too close to call.
Round 8
The corner hasn’t been able to stop the bleeding above Parker’s eye – 30 seconds in and his face is covered as he paws at the cut. Joyce is confirming all of the stories about his engine – it’s the eighth and his mouth is barely open. Some huge shots from Joyce. Parker counters but not with the same effect. Parker clinches and Joyce looks to be going for the finish here. Can he be the first man to stop Joseph Parker?
Round 7
Parker’s taking one to land one here, which is a dangerous game against a man like Joe Joyce. Both fighters determined to rack up the rounds at this stage. Big shot from Joyce and Parker’s power seems to be diminishing slightly. Joyce has him on the ropes and lets off a good combination that takes the wind from his opponent. Parker’s right eye is gushing now, his left is almost closing, and his defence is really starting to lack. Huge heart from the New Zealander, but a big round for Joyce.
Round 6
Big combination from ‘The Juggernaut’ to begin the round. He’s come out much faster than the previous round and Parker is feeling it, but his overhand right is always ready to be thrown back. A much slower effort from Parker – maybe taking a round off after some good work previously. Pace has picked up in the second half with a couple of good, sneaky uppercuts from Parker, but it’s hard to look past how fresh Joe Joyce still looks, and his jab is ever impressive. Sixth goes to Joyce.
Round 5
Parker has come willing to trade. He’s fighting Joyce’s fight and, whatever happens, deserves credit. He hits low again and is warned once more. He’s happy to back up against the ropes and let Joyce work. Bigger power shots landed from Parker again and Joyce looked like he’s slowed slightly. Close one that could go either way depending on what the judges are looking for.
Round 4
Joyce starts off the fourth throwing the jabs that slowly broke down Daniel Dubois. Parker is fighting with his hands low and taking a few too many. He goes low again, but neither Joyce nor the referee complain. Parker has landed the bigger power shots but, crucially, Joyce is handling them. An excellent right hand lands with 25 seconds to go – one that would likely get many people out of there. A slower round for both fighters but Parker takes it.
Round 3
Andy Lee was animated in the corner, hoping to send his fighter out with more motivation. Joyce catches him with a big right early which looks to have wobbled Parker briefly. Parker hits back hard but Joyce isn’t deterred in the slightest and is beginning to look like Joseph Parker could be gassing. Joyce slows down very slightly towards the end giving his opponent a bit of respite. Parker holding again. Parker landed a big right on the bell, but Joyce strolls back as usual. A relatively convincing round for Joyce.
Round 2
Joyce backs Parker into the corner on a couple of occasions, forcing the New Zealander to clinch. More impressive work from the home fighter in the early stages of this round, but Parker always keen to fire back. The referee signals that a few of Parker’s shots are straying below the belt. Joyce looks ready to go 12, Parker breathing a bit already and has some blood and bruises. Close one that should go Joyce’s way.
Round 1
A tentative start that opened up a bit as the round went on. Joyce moving forward – no surprise there. Parker’s speed advantage is noticeable, and he’s having some success to the body of ‘The Juggernaut.’ Close one to call.

Amanda Serrano vs Sarah Mahfoud
Amanda Serrano’s introduction to British fight fans was a dominant affair. Mahfoud, despite improving towards the end of the fight, never really looked in with a chance. The judges’ cards read 99-92, 97-93 and 97-93. The Puerto Rican holds onto her unified featherweight titles and moves forward, perhaps planning to seek a rematch with Ireland’s Katie Taylor.
Nathan Heaney – Jack Flatley
Nathan Heaney versus Jack Flatley was called prematurely following a clash of heads in the 5th causing a brutal cut above the Stoke fighter’s eye. The crowd met the news with boos, however it was an easy decision for the ringside physician. As is standard, any doctor’s stoppage after four rounds goes to the judges’ scorecards, where Heaney took the win by unanimous decision, retaining his IBO International Middleweight belt. Flatley showed some good work, and the final numbers perhaps didn’t reflect his effort. Regardless, ‘Hitman’ moves to 16-0.
