Jorge Masvidal says Conor McGregor and Max Holloway are living completely two different lives

UFC star Jorge Masvidal recently contrasted the personal lifestyles of Conor McGregor and Max Holloway ahead of their upcoming fight. Both athletes will headline UFC 329’s welterweight clash on July 12. Masvidal, who has significant exposure to the off-the-cage lifestyles of both athletes, asserted that their individual disciplines could eventually impact their performance within the cage.

McGregor and Holloway first clashed 13 years ago, when neither of them had the fame and prestige they now wield.  Neither fighter was even on the main card, but they stole the show at the 2013 UFC Fight Night. McGregor won by unanimous decision, albeit with a knee injury that kept him out for ten months. On his return, he got straight into a headline fight in Dublin, from where his stardom became anonymous with the promotion. Years down the line, the Irishman developed a lifestyle, which Masvidal thinks could hurt his prospects against a decent foe.

Jorge Masvidal reveals a secret about Max Holloway’s lifestyle that could determine UFC 329’s outcome

An X page familiar with the story has Masvidal comparing the lifestyles of both fighters outside the cage. First, Masvidal highlights McGregor’s lavish lifestyle, which is no news to anyone. Then he picks on Holloway’s conservatism over the years. For Masvidal, such differences in lifestyle and exposure can impact their ultimate performance in the game, especially after spending years away from the cage.

“Conor lives the lifestyle we all know he lives, and it’s clearly not just an act. Meanwhile, Max Holloway stays out of trouble, lives for the gym, his family, and training. That lifestyle difference matters. It’s why a guy like Max can step away for years and still come back like he never left.”

The UFC reportedly offered McGregor a massive payday to inspire his comeback. However, a lucrative contract may not guarantee a successful showdown, especially against an opponent who has stayed consistently active. Both fighters will face off at the T-Mobile Arena during International Fight Week next month.
