Right now the man to beat for both heavyweight champions, Joseph Parker and Deontay Wilder, is Anthony Joshua.
After last weekend’s majority decision win over Hughie Fury, Joseph Parker can now make a stronger case for fighting Joshua next year.
“I feel every champion has their weaknesses and I feel I am the best. There’s only one way to find out who is the best and that is to get together.
I will show you Joshua’s weaknesses when I fight him,” said Parker at a post fight press scrum.
But apparently, Parker isn’t just after Joshua.
“I’m now looking forward to having those big fights – Joshua, Bellew, David Haye, there is Dillian Whyte calling me out, calling everyone out,” explained Parker.
One obvious name that he left out was WBC World heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder.
Currently, Wilder is concentrated on retaining his title against Luis Ortiz on November 4th in New York. But should he win, then the focus is solely on Joshua.

If Joshua and Wilder both retain against their challengers, it will be tough for Parker to land a fight against the Watford born boxer before Wilder since the USA vs UK angle is a lot more appealing in the mainstream spotlight, especially in world heavyweight championship boxing.
Even promoter Eddie Hearn has repeated it many times that the plan is to face Wilder before Parker. In a recent interview with Fighthub.tv, the promoter also gave his prediction on Joshua-Wilder.
“We have to take care of our mandatories in historical order — chronological order — and that’s Pulev first. So, we’ll deal with that and we wanted Ortiz but we can now look at the winner of that fight [Wilder-Ortiz] next summer,” Hearn said.
If and when they actually meet, Hearn is very confident of his champion winning.
“It’s a great fight. Two very explosive, young, fast heavyweights who can punch. Don’t blink! AJ inside three rounds.”
According to Wilder, he doesn’t want to waste any time after defending his title against the Cuban challenger.
“When I beat him, I want Joshua. Everybody knows that I wanna unify the division. And whoever I’ve gotta beat to finally get that fight made, then let’s do it. If Ortiz is the gatekeeper for unifying, then I can’t wait. But my ultimate goal is to unify. I’m waiting on them.
As you can see, I’ve been ready. I’ve been calling all these champions out. I’ve done called these champions out – from Povetkin, Glazkov dodging me and going to Charles Martin. I done called out the Klitschkos, I called out the Furys,” told the WBC World heavyweight champion.
