Josh Taylor And Jack Catterall React After Rematch Postponed

The long-awaited rematch between Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall suffered another setback this week when it was announced it has been moved back and now both fighters have reacted.

Scheduled for the First Direct Arena in Leeds on April 27, two years after their contentious initial encounter for the undisputed super-lightweight titles, the two men were finally set to settle their differences after plenty of verbal back and forth.

Despite many spectators believing Catterall had secured victory and the championship in their first contest, judges awarded Taylor the split decision which is what sparked a heated rivalry between the fighters and set the stage for their anticipated rematch.

However, an injury has forced Taylor to move the fight back to May 25. Now the boxers have had their say with Catterall posting his comments on X.

“Apologies to all the fans I’ll be there May 25th. All he’s done is stalled the beating he’s going to get and I promise you all I will rid this guy out of boxing once and for all.”

Taylor also posted his apology on X.

“Sorry for all inconvenience caused. See you on May 25th ? ?️”

The fight will still take place at the original venue of First Direct Arena in Leeds, with all original tickets valid, and it will be streamed live in the UK on DAZN.
