The Barnsley bantamweight, Josh Wale will look to successfully make the second defence of his title tonight. That fight takes place against Bobby Jenkinson at Ponds Forge in Sheffield on Friday night.
He is one defence away from ensuring he is able to keep that belt in his own possession. Josh Wale will look to complete that task so he can make a gift of the belt to his father. Wale’s father has endured a tough battle with spinal tumours.
“It was one of my worst days when my dad got diagnosed,” said Wale. “It was so hard for him but he has been my trainer since I was eight years old.
“We have been on this journey together all this time and I just love doing him proud;” Wale added.

“My dad is everything to me, he’s an inspiration and he is my best mate as well as my trainer and father.”
“I wanted to be a British champion more than anything,” he said. “It’s something I’ve thought about more than even being a world champion.”
“To finally do that, after such a long road to get there, was so special and an amazing night for me and my family.”
“I’m just a down to earth lad who wants to do his dad and my own two kids proud. I think I did that.”
Thank you for all your support I'll get back to you all in time 👍 I'm the happiest man in world to be taking my belt back home to my boys 👊 pic.twitter.com/0QeoZrxXSt
