Anthony Joshua has cast his eye over the upcoming fight between his former foe Joseph Parker and potential future opponent Deontay Wilder.
Wilder and Parker are both former champions who are looking to get back to the heights they enjoyed previously in their careers. Their fight is one of several big bouts on the Day of Reckoning card in Saudi Arabia which has recently revealed a spectacular promotional video.
Wilder has not been active in the last couple of years, fighting just once and for one round only when he knocked out Robert Helenius in October 2022. Parker has been much busier – this will be his fourth fight this year, somethine trainer Andy Lee thinks will be their key to win.
Joshua will also be fighting on the same card, and speaking to DAZN he was asked to predict what might happen in the fight between the two, but couldn’t ultimately call it.
“50-50 match up. When I assess the styles that’s why I make it 50-50. Remember, Joseph Parker is a former champion, so is Deontay Wilder, so credit to both of them for stepping up to the plate and may the best man win.”
With a little over a week to go, Joshua will now be focused on his own fight with Otto Wallin, with strong rumours already circulating that he could well be fighting Wilder next should both men come through this huge event unscathed.
