Dillian Whyte’s arrival to the top of the heavyweight division was solidified on Saturday night when the number one WBC ranked boxer took out Lucas Browne in devastating fashion.

Dillian Whyte called out Deontay Wilder immediately after the fight but the WBC World heavyweight champion and his team have made it previously clear that they are reluctant to fight Whyte and want to challenge Anthony Joshua instead.
But what is actually going to happen if Joshua gets past Parker this weekend? Not Joshua-Wilder according to Wilder’s promoter Lou DiBella.
“Would I agree that it’s next [after Parker]? Absolute not. Would I agree that it might be logical to happen next? Of course. But this is boxing, there is no logic,” said DiBella in an interview with ESPN.
Wilder might have to fight his new mandatory challenger Whyte before getting to Joshua and the most anticipated fight in world heavyweight boxing might not see the light of day until 2019 if you ask DiBella.
“How I view it realistically is in early 2019, but that’s more based on what Eddie Hearn’s [Joshua’s promoter] saying. Eddie seems to be talking a lot more for Jarrell Miller for the future than he does about Wilder,” said DiBella.
“I certainly think it will happen in 2019 and hopefully sooner rather than later,” he added.
Promoter Hearn has stated on many occasions that Joshua-Wilder is the fight he wants to make eventually.
“The Wilder fight could be in America. We want to fight Wilder before the end of the year.”
“Our plan is box three times this year – end of August or early September, then December,” said Hearn in an interview with Sky Sports.
“We’ve got a base in America already. We’d rather the fight was in the UK but we’re not bothered if it has to be in America. No problem,” told the promoter.
But before we can truly speculate about Joshua-Wilder, ‘AJ’ will put his titles on the line against the WBO World heavyweight champion from New Zealand this Saturday at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
