Kell Brook has laid into Conor Benn following their altercation at the Katie Taylor vs Chantelle Cameron card this past weekend, claiming Benn has faced “no one” close to his level thus far.
Handbags kicked off after Benn walked past whilst Brook was being interviewed by DAZN ringside in Dublin, with the two since blaming each other for instigating the fracas.
And ‘The Special One’ seemed bang up for settling their differences in the ring when interviewed by Boxing Social, but under one condition – the fight must take place in Britain.
“That little rat Conor Benn is going to get some chocolate brownies, if he carries on bumping into me when I’m doing interviews and getting in my face.
He shouldered me in my back when he walked past me and wanted that to happen.
I like the challenge and how he thinks he’ll do me in two rounds. He’s not boxed no one, no one at my level, and I’m still the main man in Britain after my last performance. I’ve not got old over night, and I’ll do what I do.
He’s not boxed anyone who can punch like me, who’s as accurate as me, has been in with the best. He’s boxed people who can’t even crack an egg. He’s an omelette maker. Scramble some more eggs, brother.
I will hurt him. If this can get overturned and we can box – because we have to fight in Britain, it can’t happen anywhere else – so if it all gets approved, you will see me and Conor lock horns.”
Brook has not boxed since announcing his retirement following his stunning sixth round stoppage win over old rival Amir Khan at the Manchester Arena last February. However, he has incessantly teased at a comeback since then and has admitted he’s struggled since hanging up the gloves.
Despite being repeatedly linked to big fights, Benn is currently provisionally suspended and awaiting a hearing with UKAD to determine the future of his professional career and whether or not he will be forced to serve a ban following the positive drug tests for Clomiphene and the subsequent evidence he has gathered in an attempt to clear his name.
