Cruiserweight world champion, Lawrence Okolie, has had his say on the undisputed fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.
Fury is set to take on Usyk at the end of next month to crown the first ever four belt heavyweight champion.
Talks seemed to be heading towards a dead end, when to everyone’s surprise Usyk accepted Fury’s 30% ‘take it or leave it’ offer. Once the split was agreed Frank Warren, Fury’s UK promoter, claimed the fight would definitely be happening on April 29 at Wembley.
However, with still no official announcement and new deadlines being set by the Ukrainian’s team, fans are once again bracing themselves for bad news.
If the two do step in the ring in London, Okolie is tipping his fellow brit to take home all the belts, especially if he’s clever enough to make the ring ‘nice and small’.
“I think Tyson Fury will win by points or late stoppage just because of the physicality, especially if they make it a small ring.
In a big ring I think Usyk will be able to dance and pop left hands to the body.
A nice small ring, Tyson gets hold of him, lays on him a bit, push and pulls him around. As well as it will be very difficult for Usyk to get past the length of Tyson. I think Tyson Fury wins that one.”
The main concern for Fury fans is the 6 week timeline until the fight, with many voicing the opinion that a short training camp won’t be enough to better the former undisputed cruiserweight champion.
