It is safe to say that Leigh Wood and Josh Warrington have not become friends following their fight back in October last year and now the feud has escalated as Wood has sent a scathing response to Warrington’s latest comments.
Wood came from behind on the scorecards last year to stop Warrington with a one-punch knockout in the mid-rounds. Since then, Warrington has been keen to talk himself into a rematch and at one stage Wood seemed just as happy with the idea, particularly as it was mooted to take place at the home of his beloved Nottingham Forest.
However, that fell through and since then the two Brits have continued to trade barbs. Speaking to Boxing Social, Wood has gone off on Warrington once more.
“He’s just gone off like a kn*b. From my point of view, I only feel like he was respectful in the build-up because he thought he was going to win. So it’s alright being respectful when you think you’re gunna win but when you don’t, it’s a bit of a shock, then you’re a p***k, you shouldn’t be like that, no matter what happens, win, lose or draw the respect should be there and it’s not.”
He continued to share his distaste for Warrington’s behaviour.
“After the fight he’s come out with some right comments and statements and it’s just like what a d*ck, I don’t know how he has the audacity to say that when I knocked him out on his back. There’s genuine needle there and I’d love to knock him out again.”
Warrington always maintains that Wood got lucky that night which is why he wants another shot.
