Wilder overcame the sternest test of his career to date, the action against Ortiz on the weekend saw the Alabama native absorbed a tremendous barrage of punches after being wobbled by a deadly right hook in the fight’s seventh stanza.
With the odds stacked against him, Wilder made a tremendous dig into his resolve to shake off the cobwebs and score a come from behind knockout in the championship rounds, in the tenth.
Heavyweight legends who both held the world heavyweight title three times apiece, Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield chimed in with where the heavyweight division goes following this point.
“This fight will do for Wilder what the Klitschko fight did for AJ,” Lewis said.
“He showed heart and composure at the brink of defeat.”

“It only makes me want to see Wilder and Joshua that much more… but AJ has his own business to take care of,” Lewis stated.
Evander Holyfield also paid a great deal of respect to Wilder and also shared his excitement at a potential showdown between Joshua and Wilder.
‘The Real Deal’ however, reminded us that it is not a foregone conclusion that they will face off. Furthermore, Holyfield added that it would be folly to overlook the challenge posed by the New Zealander. “Anthony Joshua is fighting this boy named Parker and Parker is a good fighter,” Holyfield said told The Express.
“He has fast hands and he hits just as hard as he (Joshua) does.”
“You can’t look past opponents because you know what … styles make fights but the biggest thing is how much faith you have.”

”If Joshua wins they (Joshua and Wilder) could both make about $250 million so why not make the money while the money is there?”
“But at some point of time who knows if Joshua will be there?”
“I’m telling you Parker is great. He is another fighter with a good mindset,” Holyfield said.
