The final box is ticked for Liam Smith and Chris Eubank Jr’s rematch at Manchester’s AO Arena this coming Saturday.
Liverpool’s Smith defied the bookmakers odds by producing a stoppage win, hurting and dropping Eubank Jr for the first time in a career that had previously dined out on a ‘granite chin.’
Eubank believes it was a one-off, and activated his rematch clause not long after the loss. Despite some injury delays and other potential routes, the pair have now weighed in and the rivalry’s second chapter is just one day away.
Both fighters weighed in at 159lbs for the first contest. This time around, Smith touches the limit of 160 and Eubank comes in at a similar 159.3.
All smiles for @LiamBeefySmith! He's lining up the repeat 💥

Much has been made of Eubank’s weight. Indeed, it’s been pointed to as a factor in the first fight defeat by both himself and his former trainer, Roy Jones Jr.
He went through a protracted and awkward cut due to being signed to face Conor Benn last October. To prove a point, Eubank still tried to meet the catchweight of 157lbs – he made 159 – despite the fight being pulled after Benn’s positive doping tests.
It was the wrong move in the eyes of many, and could have affected punch resistance come January when Smith blasted him out in the fourth of their middleweight contest.
Some pundits even feel that the Brighton man is much more naturally suited to 168lbs, a weight he’s been closer to throughout his professional campaign.
Smith, on the other hand, has fought at the super-welterweight limit of 154 for the majority, and held a world title in that division back in 2015/16.
Both look in great shape ahead of Saturday’s main event.
