That fight was supposed to settle the ongoing debate as to who is the standout fighter in the sport, pound-for-pound.
Instead, we were left with an even more clouted picture for pound-for-pound supremacy.
That fight was controversially declared to be a draw despite many feeling Golovkin did more than enough to earn the victory.
‘Loma’ labelled the first meeting as an “interesting fight”.
However, he is of the opinion of the overwhelming majority that “GGG” who should have been awarded the win.
“It was a good fight. Interesting fight. I liked the way Canelo was boxing,” Lomachenko was quoted as saying by BoxingNewsandViews.
While Lomachenko shared that he was impressed with the Mexican’s potshotting style of fighting.

The Ukranian is of the opinion his defence was too leaky and he did not connect with enough of his offence to earn the verdict in his book.
“His defence. He was missing a bit (of punches) to win the fight. He lost the fight.”
While Lomachenko believes the Kazakstan native did enough to earn the victory.
Lomachenko said he was not impressed with the knockout artist’s gameplan and thinking going into the fight.
“Golovkin won, In my opinion. But what he was doing in the ring I didn’t like.”

“Discussing (about) it from the angle of game plan, tactics and using the skills in the fight.”
“I didn’t like his action in the fight.”
