One of the men who has fought both Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua has come out to credit who he thinks would win a clash between the two Brits.
Joshua and Fury have enjoyed plenty of peaks and troughs in their respective careers. Right now, Joshua is on a high after a trio of solid wins that have seen him back to his best after two tough years where he lost back-to-back fights to unified champion Oleksandr Usyk.
Fury has been less impressive with more straightforward wins over the likes of Derek Chisora and Dillian Whyte, then a less than spotless performance against boxing debutant Francis Ngannou.
Many believe that fight rather damaged his reputation back in October when he was knocked down in the third round and only just rallied to secure a points victory over 10 rounds, but he has recently spoken about who he thinks is an all-time great.
One common opponent is Swedish southpaw Otto Wallin, who pushed Fury hard over 12 rounds in 2019 and inflicted a serious cut above Fury’s eye, and then in December last year was battered and stopped on his stool by Anthony Joshua in six rounds.
He has now been speaking to IFL TV about the two heavyweights and sees it as closer than he once did.
“It’s interesting. I always felt Fury was going to win pretty easy. Now after being in with Joshua I know he’s tough, has a lot of power and is quick also, he’s a good fighter, I think it will be good fight, but I’m having a hard time going against Fury.
“For sure it will be a good fight that we want to see. I think Fury will have a harder time with Joshua than I thought now I’ve been in with him.”
For this mega-fight to happen, both men will have to come through their next fights – Joshua faces Ngannou on March 8, and Fury has to contend with Usyk on May 18.
