They promised to make history and break records.
Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor did just that.
The results are in and the mega PPV event on August 26th officially broke and set the new record for pay-per-view buys. The previous one was held by Mayweather-Pacquiao at 4.6 million buys.
The new one demolishes the old record by over 1.5 million buys.

According to the Irish mirror, the event will most likely break the gate record of 72 million that was also set by Mayweather-Pacquiao with a new figure of 80 million despite over 5000 empty seats at the T-Mobile Arena.
