The Mayweather-McGregor undercard is starting to shape up nicely.
It was previously announced by Ring Magazine, that Gervonta Davis will ‘most likely’ defend his IBF World super featherweight title against Roman Martinez.
It is also expected that Shawn Porter will square off against Thomas Dulorme.
Another fight has also been announced and it is for the WBA light-heavyweight championship of the world.
Current WBA light-heavyweight champion and Welsh favourite Nathan Cleverly (30-3, 16 KO’s) will try to retain his title against Badou Jack (21-1, 12 KO’s) on August 26th.
“Clev” won his title last year against Germany’s Juergen Braehmer and will defend for the first time against the Swedish Jack.
Though the WBA have a mandatory challenger waiting, promoter Eddie Hearn has confirmed that ‘the deal is done’ in an interview with IFL.tv. Cleverly will indeed defend against Jack and not Dmitry Bivol.
In his last fight, Jack fought James DeGale to a draw back in January. Meanwhile, Cleverly is 4-3 in his last seven fights.
The event is scheduled to happen on August 26th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
