Floyd Mayweather has hit out at Jake Paul this week, saying the YouTuber has “problems” if he steps into the ring with Tommy Fury.
Mayweather, speaking at the press conference for his exhibition bout with Deji this weekend, was responding to Paul’s public callout of ‘TBE’ for a fight.
‘Money‘ Mayweather answered by saying Paul has more pressing issues at hand in the form of Fury, who fights Paul Bamba as co main event on the card in Dubai.
“A lot of times, when you say certain things, you don’t really want what you say you want. And Jake Paul got problems right here [points to Fury].”
“He’s doing good, for what he’s doing. It is what it is. But it’s different when you’re at the highest level. Once he gets in there with a real fighter, who can actually fight, then it’s going to be over.”
Paul and Fury have already been scheduled to face each other twice, but the Brit has had to withdraw on both occasions; once through injury, then due to being refused entry to America earlier this year.
As for Mayweather, he has history with the Paul family. He took on Jake’s brother Logan in an eight round exhibition last year at the Hard Rock Stadium in Florida – a fight which Logan claims he still hasn’t been paid in full for.
With fans awaiting news of his next opponent, Jake Paul sent the internet into meltdown today when he posted a video facing off with controversial Internet personality and former kickboxing champion Andrew Tate, with a caption hinting that negotiations for a fight were in progress.
