The trash talk between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor has definitely been intense at times. Mayweather has accused McGregor of making racist comments but the Irishman denied this in a recent interview with MMAFighting.com.
‘The Notorious’ also addressed Mayweather’s past issues with domestic violence and being incarcerated back in 2011. As per usual, McGregor did not pull any punches and bashed Floyd with nasty verbal jabs over and over again. “First of all, never once in my life have I labeled him or any African-American a monkey. I wouldn’t disrespect any race like that and his people know that. He knows that too,” said McGregor.
He then continued and brought up Floyd’s domestic abuse history.
“If I was to label him after any animal, it would be the rat. He is a f*cking rat and a weasel. Because that’s what a rat and a weasel try to do; manipulate words and create something that is not there. It’s a weak move on his part. But that’s the individual he is. He’s a man who beats his wife in front of his kid. What can I say? All I can say is, I never spoke those things,” commented McGregor.
The Irishman also told what he thought about Paulie Malignaggi leaving his camp after the leaked photos of the American boxer being floored on the canvas. A video has also been released of the incident. Malignaggi has said that he won the 12 round sparring session but McGregor told that the American is talking this because of a concussion.
“I get the feeling that the boxing game has betrayed him. I don’t know what he expected after speaking what he was speaking. And even still I didn’t disrespect him. I only released one picture. I didn’t release any footage of him getting slapped around, and he got slapped around. He was badly concussed,” said McGregor.
According to the UFC lightweight champion, other sparring partners were worried about Malignaggi and claimed that he was stumbling and not feeling well.
“The sparring partners were worried about him that night. Saying ‘he’s in coherent and stumbling’. It didn’t go good for him. He did try his best and got his ass whooped. He got his ego dented and off he went out of the door,” commented McGregor.
Mayweather and McGregor will meet in the ring on August 26th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
