After months of speculation, the rules for the upcoming fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul Fury have finally been revealed.
This is a contest no one saw coming and one that has got plenty of people talking. Many believe it should not be happening given the difference in age and experience of the two men.
Paul is in his twenties and very much starting out his boxing career. He is yet to fight anyone of real note and has had two straight forward first-round knockout wins in his last two contests.
Tyson is of course a legend who was the youngest man to ever lift a world heavyweight title. He fought icons like Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis, before retiring after back-to-back losses 20 years ago, and has since suffered health issues as a near 58-year-old man.
Speaking to Fox Sports ahead of this contest, he has revealed the rules after being asked about if they would be wearing big 180z gloves and head guards.
“No, not true at all. This is called an exhibition. But if you look up exhibition you will not see any of the laws we’re fighting under. This is a real fight.”
He was then asked why he is taking the fight at all.
“Whatever I’m afraid to do, I do it. Anything I’m afraid of I confront it. Right now I’m scared to death but as the fight gets closer the less nervous I become because it’s reality and in reality I’m invincible.”
The fight takes place on July 20th in Texas and will be shown live on Netflix.
