The reigning WBC World Lightweight champion Mikey Garcia was all business against Adrien “The Problem” Broner this past Saturday.
Garcia dominated Broner throughout twelve rounds and showcased his skills as the clearly more technical and superb fighter of the two. For the majority of the fight, Broner struggled to let his hands go and was visibly gun shy. He tried avoiding a lot of Garcia’s shots, but the WBC lightweight champion was simply too good.
After the fight all three judges scored it unanimously (117-111, 116-112, 116-112) for Garcia. The Mexican-American fighter now holds a record of 37 wins and zero losses.
Broner now has three losses to his name. Some claim he showed up Saturday just for the big payday of one million dollars. The loss against Garcia further proves that Broner does struggle a lot against elite fighters. His future plans still remain unclear.
