Nahir Albright confident ahead of Keyshawn Davis rematch: “I got way more power”

Nahir Albright believes tensions will boil over once again when he faces Keyshawn Davis in their highly anticipated rematch this Saturday at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.

The rivalry between the two fighters has continued to intensify ever since their controversial first meeting back in 2023. Davis originally secured a majority decision victory that night, but the result was later overturned to a no-contest after he tested positive for a banned substance.

Since then, the bad blood between both camps has only grown stronger.

Their feud escalated further in 2025 following Albright’s win over Keyshawn’s older brother, Kelvin Davis, which reportedly led to a heated backstage altercation involving the Davis brothers and Albright’s team.

Now, with the rematch officially approaching, Albright has made it clear he expects emotions to run high throughout fight week.

Nahir Albright says rivalry with Keyshawn Davis is ‘50/50’ personal and business

During a recent interview with FightHype, Albright was asked whether the rivalry with Davis is more personal or simply business heading into the rematch.

“Yeah, it’s like 50/50,” Albright said. “It’s both.”

Although tensions remain between the two fighters, Albright also acknowledged that both men have developed significantly since their first encounter.

“I feel like we both grown since the first fight,” he explained.

Still, Albright believes he has evolved far more as a fighter and feels much stronger competing at 140 pounds.

“Speaking on me, I feel like I’m definitely a whole different fighter from the first fight,” Albright said.

According to the Philadelphia fighter, the move up in weight has allowed him to perform at a much higher level physically.

“140 definitely suits me better,” he stated.

“I got way more power at 140.”

Albright also pointed toward the experience he has gained over the last few years as another major factor entering the rematch.

“I got more overall experience,” he added.

“So, I’m definitely a better fighter.”

Albright predicts hostile fight week before Davis rematch

The rivalry between the two fighters already carries plenty of hostility, but Albright suggested things could become even more heated once both men arrive for fight week activities.

When asked whether he expects a hostile atmosphere ahead of the bout, Albright did not hesitate with his response.

“It’s probably going to be a fiery week,” Albright said.

“It’s gonna be a fiery week for sure.”

Albright also issued a confident warning regarding the outcome of the fight.

“We going to shock the world,” he stated.

The rematch has become one of the most talked-about fights in the lightweight division because of the history between both fighters and the lingering controversy surrounding their first meeting.

Davis enters the bout still viewed as one of America’s brightest young boxing stars, while Albright believes he remains underestimated heading into the showdown.

In his most recent bout, Albright faced Frank Martin. The bout ended in a draw for Davis. He is coming off a stoppage victory over Jamaine Ortiz.

With personal tension, unfinished business, and growing animosity between both camps,

Many fans now expect an explosive press conference before the two fighters finally settle their rivalry inside the ring.
