‘Miss GB’ faces Ewa Piatkowska for the WBO super-welterweight title on the Amir Khan-Kell Brook card in Manchester.
The title had been made vacant by American star Claressa Shields and now presents a chance for third time lucky for Jonas. Piatkowska has already her earn world title stripes having won the WBC version twice.
“I know it’s a big risk, but those risky fights have brought out the best in me and I’m ready,” said Jonas who has been unsuccessful against Terri Harper and Katie Taylor.
“I’m looking forward to it, it couldn’t be on a bigger show for north-west boxing and after I’ve boxed, I’ll be in the crowd myself to enjoy the main event. I am over the moon, and I don’t want to step up and get that world championship.”
The Sky Box Office event will also feature Brad Rea v Craig McCarthy as well as Charlie Schofield defending his English super-middleweight title against Germaine Brown.
There are also fights for former Olympian Frazer Clarke who makes his heavyweight debut, cruiserweight prospect Viddal Riley, the Azim brothers Adam and Hassan plus Yorkshire prospect Ibrahim Nadim.
