Nathan Heaney has revealed the date of his next fight.
The Stoke middleweight, who is undefeated in 15 fights, holds the IBO International bauble.
Heaney has a large fan base and was last in the ring in April at Telford International Centre, exclusively live on BT Sport.
He had been set to return on July 2 at the OVO Arena in Wembley, London, but he suffered an injury in the build-up to the show.
And he has now let slip that he will be back in the ring on September 24, as part of the supporting cast to the return of Joe Joyce.
he 33-year-old was a guest presenter on this week’s Fight Disciples podcast and said:
“I’m going to be in a really good fight on that show.”
“It’s really good and it’s one that is relatable to the British fans in terms of being a domestic fight.
“There are a few things going on behind the scenes and a few little ends being tied up here and there, but it’s a great fight and it’ll probably steal the show, to be honest.”
Joyce headlined the aforementioned show last month that Haney was forced to pull out of with injury as he dismissed the challenge of Christian Hammer inside four rounds in a defence of the WBC Silver and WBO International heavyweight titles.
Heaney added:
“The location, I can’t tell you that, but it’s dead easy for my Stokies to get to.
“I’m hoping to take 2000-plus up there, but it’s going to be really, really good and it’s at an arena I’ve always wanted to fight at.”
Boxing Social understands Joe Joyce’s promoter Frank Warren has the Manchester Arena on hold for that date and details of the full card including Heaney will be revealed in due course.
