Amir Khan returns to the ring this weekend following a hiatus that has lasted very close to two years. He hasn’t gloved up since being brutally knocked out cold by Saul Alvarez in 2016.
Amir Khan made the decision to return this weekend operating under a new promotional banner with Eddie Hearn. Hearn signed Khan to a three-fight deal with his company, Matchroom Boxing.
Amir is under pressure to show fans he can still compete somewhat at a high level.
When pressed if his upcoming opponent for the weekend will be under pressure. Canada’s Phil Lo Greco says absolutely.
LIVING A LIE: @Phil_Lo_Greco advised @AmirKingKhan to consider a life outside boxing as he believes the British star is lying to himself about a successful comeback. https://t.co/9NIzLlWfsCpic.twitter.com/nPTTiSokMw

“I think so, of course. Why wouldn’t there be?”
Lo Greco believes Khan is falling into the same trap, legends before him like Sugar Ray Robinson, Sugar Ray Leonard and Muhammad Ali did. The Canadian claims Khan is one of those fighters who cannot accept his physical abilities are on the decline.
“He’s run out of lives and I think he knows that, but athletes they have a tendency to lie to themselves, thinking ‘I’ve got one more.’ Sugar Ray Leonard did it, Sugar Ray Robinson did it, [Muhammad] Ali, where they lie: ‘No, I’ve got one more in me.”
“I think he should focus more on his health, than worry about his wealth. He’s made a lot of money.”

“Be happy, be a family man, enjoy your life. This is my time, absolutely.”
Lastly, Lo Greco says all guns are primed and ready ahead of his showdown with Khan in Liverpool on April 21st.
“I’m physically (and) mentally ready for this,” he said.
“I’ve asked for it, they delivered it, and now I’m going to deliver myself.”
“I lost a lot of weight. Obviously seeing how I looked at the press conference to now, so therefore if you need weight loss tips, hit me up.”
