We are back with the excellent Super Series this weekend at Cruiserweight following on from the big win of Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk who handed Marco Huck a bruising stoppage in the 10th round to successfully defend his WBO Cruiserweight title. This Saturday the 23rd of September the big punching action comes from the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
Something has to give when Undefeated Cuban banger Yunier Dorticos takes on the Russian Hammer Dimitry Kudryashov for the WBA title.
It’s a terrific matchup of tall and rangy power punchers to book their place in the lucrative tournament semi final.
Dorticos has dismissed all but one of his 21 opponents and all of Kudryashov’s 21 wins have been by knockout, with his one loss been at the capable hands of Olanrewaju Durado in 2 rounds, a loss he avenged in his last fight.
A bruising battle is a certainty with both capable of a knockout win, both fighters are aggressive and in your face types and we know Krudryshov can be hurt and stopped so Dorticos has the edge for me.
As a former Cruiserweight Champion is great to see my division in the limelight with the best of the Worlds Cruiserweight taking up the top four places in a very tough competition and when the dust settles there will be one very worthy winner.
With Dorticos against Kudryashov my top tip is to get yourself comfortable and don’t leave the television.
This punch up promises to be fast and furious! Enjoy the terrific action while it lasts……
