We now just have ten days to go until Vasyl Lomachenko and Guillermo Rigondeaux collide in a mouthwatering clash to decide the fate of the WBO world super featherweight championship.
Guillermo Rigondeaux has become increasingly more vocal in the lead up to the fight. As we reported recently, Rigondeaux claimed his next opponent, Lomachenko point blank refused to fight him at the featherweight limit of 126 lbs earlier in their careers.
The reigning WBA super bantamweight champion. Guillermo ‘El Chacal’ Rigondeaux has now ominously warned he is going to “massacre” WBO jr lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko.
Apparently someone is very afraid of my counterpunch power. 🤣😂. #DEC9#LomaRigo 🇨🇺🥊🇺🇦

The two, two-time Olympic gold medalists will meet at the Theater at Madison Square Garden, NYC. The event will be aired live on ESPN in the USA and on Boxnation in the UK.
Touching on why he has scaled the weight divisions, Rigondeaux explained “I went up to 130 because it was the only way I could get this fight made. I would rather it have been at a lower weight, but I want to show the world that I can do it by moving up two weight classes.”
Many experts have suggested going into the fight, that the difference in natural size will prove crucial. ‘Rigo’, however, offered his retort.
I moved up on weight (I asked for it), I took less $ than what I wanted and deserved and I have put my self out there promoting this fight. All I ask in return is that @VasylLomachenko give me his best shot. He is not known from his running. Bring it to me if you dare! #LomaRigo

“No, not at all. If this is what it takes to fight the big fights then you guys are going to see on December 9 if I am ready or not.
“I feel stronger than ever and I am going to do it and do it right. Moving up has had no negative effect whatsoever on my speed or power.” Rigondeaux added.
Offering a prediction on the upcoming bout, the undefeated Cuban shared “It is going to be a massacre. People should anticipate a massacre. I am absolutely not worried at all. I will just go in there and do my job;” Rigondeaux concluded.
My friend @RealMiguelCotto is one of those rare boxers that can retire from #boxing knowing they never ran from fighting anyone. We need more boxers like him!
