This past weekend Manny Pacquiao suffered his seventh career after defeat after losing to the relatively unknown Jeff Horn in Brisbane, Australia.
‘Pac-Man’ fought a well and many thought he won the fight, although the judges scored it unanimously to Horn. In his prime, the former eight-weight world champion would have succeeded far better against a schoolteacher but the 38-year old Pacquiao has to take a good look in the mirror. And his trainer Freddie Roach agrees.
Maybe it’s time.
“I’m going to talk to Manny about maybe calling it a day, maybe this is it,” Roach said according to Yahoo Sports.
Being the fighter that he is, Pacquiao himself wants a rematch.
“We have a clause for a rematch. No problem,” Pacquiao said.
Australian former professional boxer and world champion Jeff Fenech also had a strong opinion about Pacquiao’s future.
“If they let Manny fight again, that’s stupid. He should go relax and enjoy the money he has made. He’s got nothing to prove. Retire.”
