The biggest shocker of the weekend was provided to us by Sor Rungvisai.
The Thai fighter faced Roman Gonzales in an anticipated rematch. Rungvisai took the first fight narrowly via majority decision but last Saturday left no questions to be answered.
Rungvisai landed a heavy right hand on the chin of Gonzales and knocked him out cold in the fourth front of a shocked StubHub Centre.
Rungvisai pushed the pace in first while the Nicaraguan started the fight visibly slower than the WBC super-flyweight champion. The Thai landed the better shots and was on the front-foot during the first and second rounds.
Gonzales finally showed up in the third and landed multiple straights that rocked the champion. Though his brief moment of success was short-lived as Rungvisai brutally got payback in the fourth and dropped Gonzales.
The challenger was fighting for survival by now and Rungvisai hammered the final nail with his huge right hand and stopped Gonzales.
Here’s a short clip of the knockout.

With the win, Rungvisai improved his record to 44-4-1. Meanwhile, Gonzales has now lost two in a row for the first time in his career.
