If there were world titles for self-promotion then Ryan Garcia would be undisputed king as he makes a huge prediction for how many buys he thinks his next fight with Devin Haney will do.
Garcia has been vocal on a wide range of subjects since his next contest was announced. He will face former undisputed lightweight turned super-lightweight champion Haney on April 20 in Brooklyn at the Barclays Centre, a venue he is not too happy with.
He is currently on a press tour to promote the fight and was accused on the first day of it of being drunk by his opponent Haney. ‘The Dream’ also claims that this fight is personal after Garcia insulted his religion, which Garcia denies.
This will be Garcia’s latest step up following his fight with Gervonta Davis back in April of last year when he was stopped by a body shot. Speaking on Morning Kombat, he has now said this fight will be bigger than that one.
“Yeah I think we can get two million pay-per-view buys, at least.”
He was then asked how he wins the fight baring in mind the pair have already fought six times in the amateurs with three wins each.
“You know me I’m not about to give you my tricks of the trade, he will just be obliterated, that’s it. Only thing I remember [from those amateur fights] is he has a weak frame.”
The WBC title will be on the line when the two meet in April and Garcia signed off by telling fans to “expect the unexpected.”
