Ryan Garcia Explains Why He Couldn’t Have Been On Steroids Against Devin Haney

Ryan Garcia has firmly denied all the allegations against him, has claimed he has never cheated or knowingly taken steroids and has now explained why he believes he never could have done so for his world title fight against Devin Haney.

Garcia has been back in the headlines since urine samples provided both before and after his fight with Haney tested positive for the banned substance Ostarine.

Soon after that, his reports claimed Garcia also showed up traces of the banned PED 19-Norandrosterone, although further testing from the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency has since confirmed that the substance was not confirmed in the urine sample, per a message on X by boxing journalist Dan Rafael.

‘Urine sample @RyanGarcia provided April 19 that was positive for Ostarine but also showed banned PED 19-Norandrosterone needed more testing to confirm. That’s done. Per lab report sent to VADA, which I’ve obtained, it ‘did not confirm.’ THERE IS NO 3rd test failure.’

Garcia now just has to worry about the traces of Ostarine, which has been banned by the World Anti Doping Agency since 2008. The beleaguered boxer has come out fighting in his messages on social media and has since requested that his B-sample also be analysed.

“So yall realize I didn’t fail the tests now. No substance other then this imaginary ostrich substance… level so low wouldn’t have any effect. THEY TRIED BUT NO LIE STANDS PRAISE GOD'”

Garcia, who came in 3lbs overweight for his fight with Haney, made further claims of innocence on the Fully Tilted podcast.

“It doesn’t even give you and advantage. What advantage does it give you? Steroids is not going to help you with skill, timing. If I was on steroids, I would have been in way better shape,’ ‘I was literally drinking every day, smoking weed – I did not stop, not even until the f****ng day of the fight. I got in there high as f***, and I beat his a**.

“It was a walk in the f***ing park. I had harder fights in sparring, bruh. It was not hard at all. Even Devin was like: ‘I’ve never been outclassed that much, that easily.’ Bro, steroids did not help that, brother.”

Garcia put Haney down three times in the fight on his way to a points win which shocked the world. He soon started calling out plenty of potential future opponents and one has recently responded, but now has his hands full fighting these allegations.
